Arthur, part of the Township of Wellington North, is a community where heritage and tradition are embedded in the culture of this quaint rural town, earning it the status of Canada’s Most Patriotic Village. It is also one of the friendliest towns, where community spirit and volunteerism are celebrated and pride in place is evident.

Surrounded by working farms, the town has a strong agricultural heritage highlighted each year through the Arthur Fall Fair when the community comes together to celebrate their proud rural roots.

Sport thrives here, with a variety of organized sports for every age.  The Arthur Community Centre is a gathering spot for indoor sports, like hockey, lacrosse and skating, but in the warmer weather, the ball fields and pavilions are busy locations, as is the outdoor public swimming pool.

Nature-lovers will enjoy the many trails throughout the region, including the River Trail and the West Luther Trail. The nearby Luther Marsh is one of southern Ontario’s most significant wetlands and wildlife habitat areas, open for hiking, canoeing, mountain-biking and nature observation in the warm months, or snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing in the winter season. Operated by the Grand River Conservation Authority, this location offers a wonderful way to explore nature.

Conveniently located between the towns of Fergus and Mount Forest along Highway 6, Arthur is a busy town with convenient access to everything a growing community needs. It’s a fine balance of town and country.

Midway between the big city landscapes of the GTA and the cottage country regions of Owen Sound to the north, or Kincardine to the west, Arthur is the heart of southwestern Ontario.
